Prior to Sustainable House Day on 12 September, the Australian Institute of Architects will be hosting a seminar covering a variety of current sustainability topics.

Speakers & Topics

The Molonglo Group will speak on their cutting edge high rise residential projects in the New Acton precinct including the proposed Nishi development and the recently constructed ApARTments and New Acton East.

The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) will speak about their new facilities for teaching sustainable design with the construction of 7 star sustainable house which is utilised as a classroom tool and test building for monitoring energy efficiency.

Southside Lighting will present useful tips on energy efficient lighting technology.

Goodwin Retirement Village will speak on the sustainable design principles of their award winning retirement village.

The Land Development Agency will present information on designing for sustainability in their current developments.

The seminar will also provide brief run down of all the individual houses to be open on Sustainable House Day on Sunday 12 September.
