People Power supports businesses to go eco-friendly!

Local community groups are partnering to support local small businesses that want to do their bit to reduce Canberra’s carbon emissions.

Canberra Loves 40%, SEE-Change, Canberra Clean Energy connection and the ACT Australian Youth Climate Coalition are partnering to organise a community festival at Cook shops to support shops that are keen to reduce their emissions.

They are encouraging all their members and the broader community to descend on these shops on Saturday 8 September and do their shopping there.

The participating Cook shops will invest a percentage of the money that the “mob” spends that day on improving energy efficiency in their stores.  It’s that simple.

This People Power event follows other similar successful events in Canberra.
