What is Happening:
The planting is part of the revegetation of the Lower Cotter Catchment after the 2003 bushfires burnt through the pine plantations in the catchment. We aim to restore the pre-plantation native vegetation community to the area.

Directions: Bus details: A bus will pick up volunteers at the City West bus terminal on Marcus Clarke St (between University Ave and Allsop St) at 8:30am and then pick up volunteers at Deeks Forest Park on Uriarra Rd at 9.00am. Bus seats are limited so RSVP’s are essential if catching the bus. The bus will leave the planting site at approximately 1pm and return to Deeks Forest car park, then Civic
If driving from north and central Canberra, head west on Cotter Rd, cross the Murrumbidgee and Cotter Rivers, drive 2.7km past the Cotter Reserve (picnic area) towards Tidbinbilla, then turn right onto Laurel Camp Rd. Follow the GA directional signs to the site.
If driving from Tuggeranong, head for Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and keep driving on Tidbinbilla Rd/Paddy’s River Rd for 15km towards the Cotter until you get to Vanity’s Crossing Rd on your left. Look for GA directional signs.

Notes about the day for Volunteers:
Rough, uneven terrain, blackberries, fallen timber, portaloos, BBQ lunch with great views. Tools and instructions will be provided onsite. Please wear appropriate clothing (hat, covered shoes, long sleeved shirt and long pants recommended). Please bring a water bottle and own tool if you have one (please label it). RSVP essential.
The following will be provided: Gloves, Tools and equipment for planting, Watering cans / buckets, Drinking water, Snacks, BBQ
