The Land Development Agency (LDA) is planning a precinct of 70 compact sustainable homes in Molonglo.

Rob Thorman of the LDA gave an overview of the project at a free public talk on 8 September in advance of Canberra's Sustainable House Day 2011.

He said the project would involve solar orientation of the residential blocks and application of a solar envelope that prevents overshadowing of houses. The blocks will be very compact but will provide access to open space. They will have a minimum 7 star energy efficiency rating.
