While I was discussing the ClimatExchange site with a friend she suggested it needs a section called "Questions I am too embarrassed to ask!". 

I thought about that idea, which I thought was excellent; but it would not fit the existing structure of the site very well, because we need to thread the questions under the most appropriate heading of the forums. 

Here is how I thought we could proceed: We give users a facility to ask a "Question I am too embarrassed to ask!". This gets routed to a new identity/avatar called "Muggins" or some such name. 

Whoever gets fingered to act as 'Muggins' is then responsible for inserting that person's question into an appropriate existing conversation, or a new conversation. This allows our knowledgeable users to contribute to answering the embarrassing question. 

If the user really is embarrassed to reveal their lack of knowledge, this method allows their identity to remain anonymous. 

This site should encourage the sharing of knowledge in this rapidly evolving field.

Hi John,

Good idea.

Another way of doing this would be for the person to register using a pseudonym, as many climateXchange members already do, and that would make them anonymous. It would be good for the question to be under a relevant heading in the forums because then it would be easier for other people to find it if they are looking for an answer to a similar question.

Or they could e-mail climateXchange with their question at inquiries@climateXchange.org.au and so climateXchange could then post the question.Smile
