Comfort Glass is a brand name for Low-E glass. Low-E glass works by keeping radiant heat in or out. It works well keeping heat from sunlight out or keeping radiant heat in (it only works one way so you need to say which way you want it to work). Low-E is not an insulator like double glazing. Double glazing insulates your home against conducted heat (and as a bi product cuts noise substantially).
So when choosing between the two, the climate you live in must come into consideration. In Canberra, with the extremely cold winters and the boiling hot summers, most people choose Double Glazing for its insulating properties.
Cost wise, Low-E would add about the same cost as a well priced double glazed window.
About Low-E-glass
Low-e glass stands for low emissivity glass. This glass varies from normal clear glass in that one side of the glass has a special metal coating, technically known as a low emissitivity, or Low E. coating. Low-E glass is a type of insulating glass, which increases the energy efficiency of windows by reducing the transfer of heat or cold through glass. That means in the winter your house stays warmer, and in the summer it stays cooler.
There are two types of Low-E (low emissivity) glass available – Pyrolytic (hard coat) is considered to be a medium performer, and sputtered (vacuum deposition or soft coat) is considered to be the highest performer.
