Apparently, Tesla Motors' Powerwall batteries will be available in Australia in 2016. They will use technology from Canberra start-up Reposit Power to enable solar panel owners to sell power back to the grid.

Also, ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr, has launched a bid for Tesla to establish a research presence in Canberra.
