The ACT Government's Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission has released an issues paper as a first step in developing a model for determining the premium rate to be paid for electricity supplied by renewable energy generators to the electricity grid. This rate will apply in the period 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011, and then there will be annual adjustments for the following 4 years.

The issues paper is available by e-mail on icrc@act.gov.au (and submissions can be lodged through that e-mail address), or at the following link:

The Commission is inviting written submissions by 23 December 2009.
