The ACT Government's tender for solar energy facilities could lead to up to 20 solar farms being established in Canberra.

The Government is seeking the supply of a total of 40 megawatts of solar-generated electricity. The minimum generated by each solar farm must be 2 megawatts, hence the possibility there could be up to 20 solar farms. However, it is also possible there could be as few as 2 solar farms of 20 megawatt capacity each.

There will be two rounds of tendering, the first in June 2012 and the second in April 2013.

Check out the Canberra Times article on 28 January 2012 to find out more.
