It was sobering to read in the Canberra Times yesterday that the licences of about six electricians have been cancelled over the past 12 months for incorrect installation of solar PV systems in Canberra.

From the article, it seems the worst case was a Sydney company required to correct many of its installations. Apparently, two of its licensed electricians had their ACT electricians' licences issued under a reciprocal arrangement that recognised their NSW licences.

It's a real relief to know that here in the ACT the Government requires a 100 per cent double inspection of all solar installations. I gather it is the only jurisdiction to insist on this.
