Is it only me or are other people out there astonished at the doublestandard applied to people who speak out on the issue of a price on carbon?
In recent days in the media we have seen the leader of the Opposition criticise Cate Blanchett for appearing in a TV ad supporting a price on carbon because he says she is rich and so wouldn't suffer from increases in electricity prices etc. Just days later, we see him encouraging miners to speak out against the carbon tax, and there are certainly many rich people in that sector, not to mention several billionaires.
What a doublestandard this is!
