NSW Coastal Planning Guideline: Adapting to Sea Level Rise

A few months ago the NSW Government issued a new guideline – NSW Coastal Planning Guideline: Adapting to Sea Level Rise - that outlines an
approach to assist councils, State agencies, planners and development
proponents to address sea level rise in land-use planning and
development assessment.
That got me thinking about how it may apply to the part of the NSW coast that Canberrans are most familiar with – the south coast.
Googling, I found that the Eurobodalla Shire, which includes places like Bateman's Bay, Moruya and Narooma, is being pro-active on this. The Shire Council has issued a Eurobodalla Interim Sea Level Rise Adaptation Policy to guide
development decisions in the Shire until detailed coastal risk
assessment studies are completed in consultation with the
community.
