Have your say on the local food economy by completing a short survey by Friday 28 February 2014. It should only take a few minutes to complete.

Choose from whichever of the following surveys is most appropriate to you.

The Local Food Initiative Project aims to identify barriers to local food
production and consumption to identify practical solutions for
producers, retailers and consumers.

All information collected will be held in confidence and individuals will
not be identified in collating survey information.

Survey results will be available online and at a public forum in mid 2014.

The project has been initiated by FuturePLANS (Palerang Local Action Network
for Sustainability) and is supported by SCPA, Southern Harvest, SEE-Change,
Permaculture eXchange and Canberra City Farm.

There was an interesting information session tonight that reported on the outcome, to date, of the survey referred to above. Participants were also asked to identify where there might still be information gaps about the local food economy.

The survey is still available for anyone who wants to have their say on the local food economy – at http://www.rdasi.org.au/foodhub

A great development that has come out of the Local Food Initiative is a new Australian Capital Region Food Hub. Its aim is for food producers, buyers and sellers to better connect and facilitate a more resilient regional food economy. If you want to become involved in the Food Hub go to:
