Does anyone know where I can recycle thick plastic bags in Canberra?
I know that Coles and Woolworths supermarkets will recycle the thin supermarket shopping bags, but who recycles the thick plastic retail shopping bags that department stores use? I gather that they are made from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE).
I've spoken today to the Customer Relations officers for both Coles (phone 1800061562) and Woolworths (1300767969) and they said people could place the thicker plastic bags in the recycling bins in their supermarkets.
The climateXchange Canberra Green Directory now has a comprehensive section under the Recycling heading on where to recycle different things in Canberra.
