The Sustainability Network is an informal local network that brings together on a monthly basis people from a range of community groups concerned with sustainability to discuss issues of common interest.
At last night's meeting, there was a guest speaker, Tony Kevin, who spoke about his new book "Crunch Time: using and abusing Keynes to fight the twin crises of our era". The twin crises he referred to were the global financial crisis and climate change. It was an interesting evening, with a wide-ranging and vigorous discussion following his presentation.
The next Sustainability Network event is on 19 April, which will focus on action planning for a series of sustainability related activities or projects in Canberra in 2010 as a first step in developing a longer term strategy in the lead up to Canberra’s centenary celebrations in 2013.
