SEE-Change has been very active in 2010, and has a very busy week coming up this week at Floriade.
Along with their SEE-Change stall at Floriade this year, they will also be presenting 6 different seminars during the week starting on Monday 20th September.
Each presentation will cover a specific topic and will run for around half an hour. This is a great opportunity to support SEE-Change and learn about some interesting ways to reduce your environmental impact.
For full details of the events, see the SEE-Change website here.
The events are also listed on the climateXchange calendar on 20, 22 and 23 September.
Above: Solar pet kennel – the black containers at the bottom of the cardboard box absorb heat from the sun, warming up the area above. According to Leigh Duxson, his cats love the kennel and were upset when he took it away for a few days to display it at Floriade. What an ingenious improvisation this pet kennel is!
SEE-Change has been awarded ACT Government funding to run a series of competitions in 2011 to encourage kids of all ages to develop their own vision for Canberra in the next ten years.
A SEE-Change team of volunteers will help undertake detailed planning for the project during the second half of 2010 including by developing three separate “road shows” for presentation by recent school leavers at ACT school assemblies during 2011.
SEE-Change particularly welcomes recent school leavers, parents, grandparents and retired and current school and college teachers to volunteer for this effort.
