Run for a Safe Climate

I wonder how many Canberrans saw the runners involved with the Run for a Safe Climate on 16 November. They came through on their way from Cooktown in north Queensland to Melbourne in Victoria.

A team of 25 trained runners from across the emergency services are running a relay from 2-29 November over 6000km to highlight the threat that global warming presents to Australia's key agricultural regions, cities, water, health, security and great national icons such as the Great Barrier Reef.

In Canberra, the runners attended a solar powered BBQ near the solar thermal “Big Dish” at the Australian National University and then there was a related seminar at Parliament House. See photos taken at the solar BBQ at:
