Carbon Challenge

In 2012, Canberra community groups joined forces to create the Carbon Challenge, as a way of encouraging people to reduce their eco-footprint. It was a great success for 12-18 months and demonstrated a measurable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in Canberra.

The project was a collaboration between the ACT Government, the Canberra Environment Centre, climateXchange and several local businesses that provided significant in-kind and other support such as prizes.

We thank everyone who was involved in making this highly innovative and engaging concept a reality, and believe it is something that we can all be very proud of!

In 2015, the ACT Government adopted the Carbon Challenge concept into their ACTSmart web portal and you can find its new home at:
