ACT Government’s Garden Smart Service

Did you know that you can actually have a qualified horticulturalist visit your garden, FOR FREE, to assess your watering needs and to show you ways to use less water in the garden. Under its Garden Smart service, the ACT Government provides this free service so that you can find out how to make your garden more water-efficient through clever plant choice and garden design.

By participating in the GardenSmart program, you can also be eligible for a rebate of up to $50 when you buy selected water-saving products such as garden mulch, drip irrigation systems or components, weeping hose, tap timers, soil additives for moisture retention, irrigation system controllers, moisture/rain sensors for irrigation systems, water wands, downpipe water diverters, greywater hoses, compost bins, worm farms and books on water-efficient gardening.
